10,000 members and 8,000 downloads of ARIS Express: the new online platform from IDS Scheer for everyone who wants to know more about Business Process Management (BPM) is proving a worldwide success
Saarbruecken, October 22, 2009
Once a niche topic, BPM now plays an integral part in successful corporate management. Although many user and expert groups have sprouted up around the globe, what was missing was a platform for sharing experiences and discovering new options. Having attracted 10,000 members in just 5 months, ARIS Community is clearly what both professionals and beginners were looking for.
The new ARIS Community helps BPM experts and newcomers to expand and update their process knowledge, plus enabling them to establish personal links with other BPM contacts. It is currently a meeting point for 20 different groups, including an international university group and national ARIS user groups, for example from France, Portugal, and Spain. With Kommunal DB, ARIS Community also offers German users from the public sector access to intuitive, ready-to-run process models.
The ARIS Online Academy provides all BPM beginners with free e-learning courses, while experienced BPM users can find out more about deploying ARIS Platform products in BPM projects. The e-learning content has already been accessed by more than 3,000 course participants. To go to the ARIS Online Academy, visit: www.ariscommunity.com/group/aris-online-academy.
Less experienced BPM users can discover the fast benefits of ARIS Express, the free beginner’s version of ARIS, by downloading it from ARIS Community. A recently launched competition for the most useful and most humorous models created with ARIS Express is another incentive to actively participate in the Community.

“BPM experts and users urgently needed their own platform for sharing expertise. The diverse options of exchanging information as well as process models offered by ARIS Community clearly meet the requirements of a wide range of BPM target groups. At the same time, strict data protection rules ensure that users are not bombarded with spam and advertising,” explains Wolfram Jost, Member of the Executive Board with responsibility for the worldwide Product Strategy and Development of IDS Scheer.
